This is one of the paintings in my series of five large abstract images with the title LANARK, which is the name of the small town in the South of Scotland where I was born and grew up.
These paintings invite you to slow down, take time, let you discover nuances and subtle elements in the forms, hues, spaces, shapes, textures and lines within the paintings. As a creative artist I am attempting to reduce, to simplify and thus enhance a more meditative approach to seeing, observing, enjoying, to being with a painting.
Creating the LANARK series was an emotional journey for me, full of memories, turning points, images.
