As a boy, I cherished writing and sketching with fountain pens, winning prizes for my handwriting. I loved creating dreamlike calligraphic forms. These Abstract Calligraphy paintings capture large, sweeping movements executed with a paintbrush directly on my studio floor. I've never used an easel. I prefer the freedom to move and shape my creations.
